Disney swallows Marvel!

Yes! The image you see of a Spider-Mouse could come to be true! The wonderful
world of Disney has bought over Marvel for $4 billion smacks. August 31st 2009, is a
date to be remembered for all comic-geeks & Marvel fans. Disney has announced plans
to acquire the assets of comic book tycoon "Marvel Entertainment".

"This transaction combines Marvel's strong global brand and world-renowned library
of characters including Iron Man, Spider-Man, X-Men, Captain America, Fantastic Four
and Thor with Disney's creative skills, unparalleled global portfolio of entertainment
properties, and a business structure that maximizes the value of creative properties
across multiple platforms and territories," said Robert A. Iger, President and Chief
Executive Officer of The Walt Disney Company. "Ike Perlmutter and his team have
done an impressive job of nurturing these properties and have created significant
value. We are pleased to bring this talent and these great assets to Disney."

"I" the writer wonder how other Marvel/comic fans would react to this freakin' BIG news.
"I" the writer is kinda outraged that Marvel would take such a big leap. Would this mean
that "The Avengers" would team up what the 7 dwarfs? To over come Doc Doom & the
witch? DAMN!

The only wish "I" the writer have upon a STAR is that, Disney supports what ever Marvel
creates in the future without minimizing the roles for a younger audiences.

But! on the positive side, Marvel Studios would have better animations right? For more

quote of the day!

This is incredible news and all is well in the Marvel U. "

Marvel & Disney characters will not be absorbed into one universe, that is simply ridiculous. But we can probably expect a lot of cross-overs, especially in videogames.

Disney & Marvel themselves has said that acquisition is much like how Pixar was merged, where everything will be left as is.

Experts say that the main reason for the acquisition is in the profit of cinemas. By buying Marvel, Disney Studios can have exclusive filming rights for Marvel characters. We all know how successful Iron Man was.

On the other hand, DC was bought by Warner Bros and look how they turned out to be: films and projects stalled under other bureaucracy. This might be possible for Marvel too.
